External Beta Terms
Effective date: August 4, 2026
Version: 2026-08-04
These Terms govern participation in Sweetee's invitation-only external beta. Sweetee is operated by Benson Chiang, an individual based in Taiwan (“Sweetee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. Eligibility and agreement
You may use the beta only if you are an adult under the law where you live, were selected or invited by Sweetee, are not located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and can legally agree to these Terms. By affirmatively accepting the identified Terms and Privacy Policy versions in the app, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
Do not share beta access or pairing credentials with an unauthorized person. We may require renewed acceptance when these Terms or the Privacy Policy change materially.
2. The beta service
Sweetee gives two paired partners a private Shared Space for messages, moods, photos, doodles, dates, quizzes, and related relationship features. Beta features may be incomplete, unavailable, changed, or removed without notice. Do not depend on Sweetee as your only copy of important information or as an emergency, medical, legal, or safety service.
3. Your account and Shared Space
You are responsible for protecting your credentials, keeping your account information accurate, and activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe the account has been compromised.
A Shared Space exists for the pairing rather than as a separate archive owned by either partner. If either partner deletes their account, Sweetee permanently removes the whole Shared Space for both partners. The surviving person's individual account remains active but becomes unpaired.
4. Content and consent
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Sweetee a limited permission to host, process, display, transmit, and back up that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and moderate the beta as described in the Privacy Policy.
Sweetee permits consensual romantic or intimate content exchanged privately between paired adults. You must have every necessary right and consent before uploading or sharing content, particularly another person's image or private information.
You must not use Sweetee for content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, exploitation, threats, harassment, stalking, coercion, impersonation, unlawful activity, malware, fraud, spam, or infringement of another person's rights.
5. Reports and safety action
You may report partner content for review. Reporting deliberately discloses the submitted evidence to Sweetee's safety reviewer.
We may investigate reports; restrict, remove, or preserve content; end a pairing; suspend beta access; or contact appropriate authorities when reasonably necessary to protect people, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. During the external beta, credible urgent safety risks are prioritized and moderation cases are targeted for review within 24 hours, but Sweetee is not an emergency service.
6. Subscriptions
Paid features, if offered, are purchased through Apple's App Store and governed by Apple's purchase terms. Prices and trial details appear before purchase. You manage cancellation through your Apple subscription settings.
Deleting a Sweetee account does not cancel an Apple subscription, and an active subscription does not delay account deletion. Review and cancel Apple billing separately before deleting if you do not want it to renew.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information Sweetee processes, the providers involved, retention, reporting, and account deletion. It forms part of these Terms.
8. Beta license and ownership
Subject to these Terms, Sweetee gives you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the beta for its intended purpose. Sweetee's software, branding, designs, and other materials remain ours or our licensors'. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer except where law expressly permits, interfere with security, scrape the service, or use the beta to build a competing dataset or service.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the beta or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated violation, a credible safety or security risk, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the beta. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a way to contact support.
10. Beta disclaimers and responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, preservation of content, compatibility with every device, or that the beta will become a public product. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sweetee is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from beta use. Sweetee's total responsibility for claims relating to the beta will not exceed the amount you paid Sweetee during the six months before the claim, except where a different limit is required by law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction in Taiwan will have jurisdiction over disputes, unless the mandatory law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as the beta changes. For a material update, we will identify the new version and require affirmative acceptance before continued beta use.
